Reetha Powder is made from the dried and ground fruit of the Reetha tree, also known as the soap nut tree.  When the fruit is harvested and left to dry naturally, the fruit hardens and forms into a hard shell, resempbling a nut.  Soap nuts and Reetha Powder contain saponin which is a natural surfactant (foaming properties which give a soapy texture) and has been used as a soap for centuries.  In powdered form it is easy to create a paste for washing hair, creating hand soap; and as a natural, eco friendly pet shampoo.

Use as a hair cleanser / shampoo:
Mix with warm water to make a smooth paste and apply to wet hair.  Leave for 10 minutes and rinse off with water.  Can also be mixed with oil or Aloe Vera for a moisturising hair oil treatement.
Use for skin/body care:  
Mix with warm water to make a smooth paste. Leave for 20 mintues before using.
Use as a pet shampoo:
Mix with warm water to make a smooth paste and apply to wet hair. Leave for 10 minutes and rinse off with water.
 
When applying to your hair, it may feel like the shampoo is tangling your hair, however this is only natural and will not damage your hair.  Rinse well.  The results should give you healthier and shinier hair.
