What is Astaxanthin?
Astaxanthin is now thought to be one of the most powerful antioxidant found in nature. It can be found in microalgae, yeast, salmon, trout, krill, shrimp, crayfish, crustaceans, and the feathers of some birds. It provides the red colour of salmon meat and the red colour of cooked shellfish.
Scientists have calculated that it is:
800 x stronger than CO-Q10
550 x stronger than Green Tea Catechins
75 x stronger than Alpha-Lipoic Acid
6000 x stronger than Vitamin C
Our Asataxanthin is haematococcus pluvialis, a freshwater red algae species of Chlorophyta from the family Haematococcaceae. This species is well known for its high content of Astaxanthin.
What does Astaxanthin do?
There are hundreds of studies being conducted on Astaxanthin and these are finding that it has a wide range of possible health benefits including: help for the immune system, anti-fatigue, support for eye health, improved skin health and prevention of damage caused by free radicals.
